For those of you on the standard Monday-Sunday P90X Classic, tomorrow is Yoga X Day. 

DON’T SKIP IT!

Don’t go for a run.

Don’t do intervals.

Don’t quit after the vinyasas.

Be the X’er you always said you would be before you started this program.

Muscle up and do the stinkin’ Yoga.

Exercise only the architect…

  In the P90X gospel known as the Book of Execises, you will find a statement that says: Exercise is the architect, sleep is the builder.  (I don’t have the book in front of me, so forgive me if I have a word slightly out of place.)  Not only is this true, but I think it goes a step further:

Exercise is the architect. Food is the material. Sleep is the builder.

You can do every workout and not get the max results if you forget this mantra. Stick to the right nutrition plan. Do the workouts. Sleep at least 7 hours. That’s the pathway to the trifecta results.  It certainly helped me go from 28% to 5% bodyfat, and I am far from a guru.

P90X accomplishment of the week.

While I haven’t yet garnered praise from Pam the Blam like super-blogger FitBomb, Week 2 of Round 2 has brought me some personal bests that I’m pretty excited about.  Yesterday was Chest and Back and I crushed it.  452 push ups and 147 unassisted pull ups. BOOM.  That is huge for me considering that a mere 15 weeks ago I could barely squeak out 1 unassisted pull up with dodgy form.  I know it is only the second day of the week, but I feel like celebrating, so what the hell?

The FitBomber makes Pam go Blam!

In yet another maneuver that we didn’t see coming but should have, my man the Fit Bomb has actually received a comment from Pam the Blammer on one of his posts! Does the world of P90X have room for its very own Perez Hilton? I think so!

By the way, if were wondering what FitBomb being the Perez of our world would make me, I suspect it would be a leaner version of the guy from Office Space with the stapler.

Give me a break – JUST DO YOGA X

For those of you who stop by here occasionally, you know that I don’t really BS around, either positive or negative.

It’s time for some serious tough love.

Stop making excuses for not doing Yoga X.

Seriously.

Every other post about X on the blogs is somebody making an excuse.  It’s too long. It’s too hard. I don’t have time. I find running more Zen. I don’t sweat enough. BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Let me tell you what that is: Bullshit.

It’s just another excuse.

Take some personal responsibility and do one of two things:

1. Admit that you aren’t man, or woman, enough to do it.  At least then you’re being honest.

or

2. Stop being a child and do the goddamn routine. And do it every time.

Look, you aren’t smarter than the program.  If you were, you wouldn’t need one, you’d be teaching one.

And you aren’t, are you?

Not understanding Yoga, or how it works, or what the benefits are, does not mean that you know something that every X’er who actually does the program doesn’t.

In fact, it actually means you know less. It means that you are too busy trying to be smart to do the right thing.

Now go put on your big girl panties and do some freaking Yoga X.

Round Two Update, Week One, Day Three

Work has really sucked up alot of my time lately, so I’ve been slacking on the blogging about X. I have been banging away at round two though.  Today was Day 3, Shoulders and Arms plus ARX. I upped the weight on every exercise, performing all but one with 25s or 30s, 12-15 reps.  I’m pretty pleased with that so far. I will begin mixing in some Plus in the next week or two.  I haven’t bought it yet, but I will in the next few days. I’m looking forward to seeing some new stuff.

A funny coincidence…

So my Day 90 is Saturday, the day after tomorrow. It just so happens that Day 90 is Yoga. We will visit sometime later why P90X is actually 91 days and not 90, but for now – Saturday is Day 90 – Yoga. So it also just so happens that I have to travel for work that day and won’t be able to do Yoga unless I get up earlier. As you know, I never, ever, ever skip – SO, I will be getting up at – wait for it – 4 AM. 4 AM to do Yoga X. And I thought 6:20 (normally wakey time) was early. I’m not sure what’s more X-treme – Yoga X, or getting up at 4 am to do it.
